THE INFANTRY DOESN'T FORGET

Early ass mornings. Rain-slick roads. Cold air. Distant tree lines. Somewhere out there a handful of Infantrymen are moving forward together. 

Ruck March Wednesday.

11B. 0311. You know exactly what that means.

While everyone else was sleeping, somebody was getting smoked. While somebody else was complaining about their weekend, you were throwing weight on your back and stepping off before sunrise. And while the world was busy living a normal life, you were learning how to keep moving when everything hurt.

This shirt isn't covered in some tired motivational slogan.

It doesn't need to be.

It's for the men who remember the sound of boots hitting pavement. The weight of a rucksack. The smell of wet gear. The jokes that nobody else would understand. These are the miserable mornings that somehow became the memories you wouldn't trade for anything.

God loves the Infantry.

And for twenty years, when the country needed young men willing to answer the call, we answered.

We left families, jobs, girlfriends, comfort and normal lives behind and stepped forward.

Not because it was easy.

Not because anybody promised us glory.

But, because somebody had to go.

So wear it for the ones who were there.

Wear it for the ones who still wake up remembering.

Wear it for the brother standing next to you when the road gets long; And for those that didn't come home with us.

And maybe wear it when somebody who never signed up asks what you did with your twenties.

Because “office stories” were never going to impress our kids.

Slap it on your truck. Your locker. Your range box. Your laptop. Anywhere you want to leave a reminder that some of us chose the hard road while everyone else watched from the sidelines.
